Behavioral Intervention Team

The Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) is a multidisciplinary team who meets regularly with the goals of reducing silos of information and connecting students of concern with resources so they can be successful and safe within the community.

The BIT differs from case management in that it seeks to address immediate concerns involving risk of harm to self or others. While each concern presented to the BIT will be involved in case management not every concern supported by case management will be presented to the BIT.

Concerns BIT Addresses:

  • Self-harm
  • Suicidal ideation
  • Interpersonal violence
  • Stalking
  • Behavioral disruptions
  • Substance abuse
  • Threats of harm to others

No additional referrals are needed as cases will be assigned to the BIT from the Office of Student Outreach and Support.
