Student Activities Center

The Student Activities Center, or SAC, offers faculty and staff a venue for exercise and athletics.


Faculty, staff, and their dependents are welcome to use the Fitness Center. Dependents must be 16 years of age or older and be accompanied by a parent or guardian to use the facility.

The Fitness Center is equipped with treadmills, elliptical trainers, stationary bikes, strength-training equipment, free weights (ranging from 5 to 100 pounds) and Olympic barbells with over 1,000 pounds in weight plates.

Proper Workout Attire

  1. Closed-toe/heel athletic footwear is required. Sandals, slides and flip-flops (as well as going barefoot) are not permitted.
  2. Athletic shorts, sweats and T-shirts are appropriate.
  3. All attire should be appropriate in fit and design/print.
  4. Jeans, khakis, belts and any other items that could damage the benches, seats and upholstery are not allowed.

Guidelines for Safety and Use

  1. No food or gum is permitted. Drinks in covered containers are allowed.
  2. Bags, backpacks and other outside equipment must be left at the check-in desk.
  3. Spotters and the use of collars are required for all rack/dumbbell lifting.
  4. Return all weights/bars/dumbbells/adjustable benches to their designated locations on the racks. Do not lean any weights against the racks/walls/fences. Do not leave weights/dumbbells on the floor.
  5. Strip all bars of any weights immediately following use.
  6. Do not drop the dumbbells. This is cause for immediate loss of SAC privileges.
  7. The power bars (wide sleeve) are for use on/in the racks (bench, squat, etc.). Do not use Olympic bars on the bench/squat racks. Only use bumper plates on the Olympic bars (narrow shiny sleeve).
  8. Please wipe down all equipment following its use.

Faculty and staff can use the SAC for the following activities:

  • Volleyball
  • Taekwondo
  • And more!

SAC Fitness Center Hours

Hours of operation vary. Please visit the Student Activities Center (also known as the wrestling building) where the Fitness Center hours are posted each week. If you have any questions about when the Fitness Center is available, please ask the attendant.
